Faro Portugal Airport…

Faro Airport is the principle airport for the Algarve and can be found on the southern coast of Portugal. Faro Airport is located about 7 km to the west of Faro. Faro Airport handles a large number of passengers from all over Europe. Most of the low cost airlines such as all offer direct flights to Faro throughout the year. The main terminal is spread over two floors with the main check-in desks and arrivals area on the ground floor. Within the terminal building there are a good number of places to eat and drink including a roof top café which is open from April to October each year. To get to the roof top café you need to climb the stairs or catch the lift from the main arrivals hall. As with most tourist airports there are a large number of car hire companies operating out of Faro Airport and the main taxi rank can be found just outside the terminal building. The buses offer a limited service into the main bus depot at Faro. The transfer times to most of the resorts along the Algarve are normally less than an hour. As a guide Almancil is 20 minutes, Vilamoura 30 minutes, Albufeira 45 minutes and Portimao is around an hour.
